So you may be wishing you were  fishing......tough conditions right now unless you are ice fishing........but many times in the winter when you may be out trying to catch trout.....you will catch a sucker, and some get quite large......suckers tend to be everywhere, not sure they are too happy in a lake or pond but most if not all rivers have them.......in the dead of winter, on the coldest day , if you have some worms  cast down pretty deep and they will bite....... they will congregate in the deep pools........ I remember on the old NJ Trout site....the guy who ran it ( Dennis RIP ) would smoke them.........any way if you need to hook into something in the dead of winter suckers are it..........
