Slippage of the hair did not happen under any taxidermist watch since you get in your hands what you get form the client. 
The deer was handled properly and it still happened. I believe the rain which soaked the deer for about 4 hrs, while gutting, taking pictures and then transporting the deer in a rain storm caused it to happen. Lesson learn. If I was to do it again I would dry him the best I could before getting him into the butchers cooler. He was skinned and frozen within 48 hrs,.
