Held a Real Beauty Today

I had in my hands today a Springfield Armory M1A in .308, what a beautiful rifle. It was registered as an Assault Weapon in 1986. Original owner passed away and he left instructions with his wife to have the gun turned in for destruction upon his passing. She is the heir and executor of the will and was confused about the instructions he left. The owners brother wanted to have it transferred to him. I was lucky enough to meet with them, hold that beauty, and help keep that rifle from going to the scrap heap. It's the little things in life that make me happy.

Many times its the story I hear.......we go to a possible estate sale and the heirs tell me they turned the guns, ammo , even empty mortar shells with trench art on them , into the police........one time we were able to get the mortar shells back........many times we also hear  " we have a friend who is a police officer , he took care of all that  stuff "........
