Wow  nice stuff........catalog just came in the mail......most boots are $400 and up......boots I  wear now are Cabelas Iron Ridge  cost about $100-125......and they last more than a year of almost daily wear......so would an extra $300 be justified......( probably not ) ....I ve had Red Wing boots and they dont last and are at least $300........one time a guy was selling boots etc off the back of a truck, $25 boots are real crap... ( LOL)........

I would never pay $400 for a pair of boots -- well, maybe I would if they provided a true lifetime guarantee and had the reputation to back up their stuff (no leaks, no cracks for the lifetime).

You can get them resoled for $170. As long as you care for them, they can last you for a long long time

I like the redwings but then I do not wear them every day, I have a pair that I have been using for the last 10 years. for working around the farm in the summer.

I have a pair of Kenetrek boots. They are stiff at first then comfortable. Support is awesome.

They are well built.

I still would like a light pair of boots for early season. Something like danner, or Redwing upland.

Its not justifiable for hunting NJ. However, if you are heading out west chasing mountain goat or Elk in BS you better invest in good boots, they will make a huge difference. Walking 10 to 15 miles /day after day after day you need boots that will not hurt you and stay dry for the duration.  Guides on these hunts will tell you your boots are extremally important and will recommend boots like Kenetrek or Meindl. Again they are not boots for NJ.

I also have insanely wide feet. Still have yet to see wide rubber boots...

I have wide feet and large calf's,  a while back I came across Lacrosse Alph Lites and they are the best hunting  boot I have ever used for NJ moderate weather. They are not as warm as you would like once the weather droppes below 25 but they are roomy and allow for heaters and heavy socks and they have extra wide tops that will allow you to easily tuck in almost pants on the widest calf.  They do not come indifferent widths  but they are wide and do fit me better than any other light weight rubber waterproof boots I have had in the past. You should try a pair on and you will be hooked. They are always on sale in beginning o the season, regular price is around $110 They are LACROSSE #200064
