Compared to most on this site I'm an amateur but I figured I would share a recent epiphany.  I've been shooting for many years now and have never owned or used a gun vise. I recently picked one up and must admit I've been living in the dark ages. It really does make cleaning a lot more simple and helped me to organize all my cleaning crap. Between that and this new thing called cable TV I feel as if I'm slowly coming into the 20th century.

My polaroid isn't functioning  but hope this will do. It's by Tipton. It is the second from the top model. My wife has all types of coupons and credits so it cost me $25 on Amazon.

A newer version of what I've been using for years. Welcome to the club!

I don't wish to sound like a complete idiot but it really is a game changer. I took my kid to the range the other day, bolt action and some shotgun. Cleaning was actually enjoyable. Sometimes the little thing!!!

What did you particularly find game changing?  Might give others an idea of why this might be a worthwhile purchase

Sounds ridiculous but having the gun held firmly in place allowed for easier cleaning. I generally use a cleaning rod and/or bore snake. With the gun held firmly and upright the whole process was a lot more simple. I realize it sound a bit silly but just that one advantage was big to me.

Exactly, and especially scope leveling.
