Just like the title says, how many of you plan to leave NJ?  Extreme taxation, sanctuary state, enemy to 2A, traffic,  liberalism spreading like weeds into the rural areas, etc...

From a sportsman's perspective - NJ has it all.    Fresh and salt fishing - which can rival many other states at times.   Waterfowl, small game and of course the legendary deer hunting the state has to offer...      To me those are the best parts of living here, but is it enough to stay forever?

I am still torn on where to live out my post retirement years (should I be blessed to get there).    Maybe two small homes - one in the heartland with some acreage one southern coastal like Carolina's to Florida.

I’m staying here .

set up close to the boat now . Will run some charters for extra money .

even with crazy taxes can get by on a grand a month here .

decent hunting , and I feel as I get older it will even be better .

great 9 months of fishing with a super variety of fish to be caught , and within reasonable rides .

‘many southern states that have good fishing it’s a long boat ride to get to their fishing grounds .

‘IMO for diversity of fishing Maryland shouldn’t be overlooked either

MD should not be overlooked - has great deer hunting too.   There are almost "3 Marylands" within the state.

1) Eastern shore- the fishing and best deer hunting

2) Western - looks more like WV the closer you get to WV... Beautiful rolling hills and mountains

3) Baltimore - a total ####-hole beyond all hope

must take into account not only property tax, but local/state tax, and if that state will or will not tax your pension and other retirement plans you have, also some states have better healthcare (hospitals and doctors) versus other states

If we stay here in the Northeast then PA it is, but to see a decent drop in taxes we need to get at least 50 miles from NJ and even cheaper off Rt 80 versus Rt 78

Tennessee has changed their laws to favor retirees, they have good healthcare, property taxes still low but home prices are going up......and they have very good hunting

If for financial and healthcare reasons then FLORIDA IS STILL #1

I could not vote because my spot is not there. I would move to the Southern Alabama area. Good deer hunting, fishing, and people. Now that said I retired 10 years ago but wife said if I move it will be by myself. So now we are at a stalemate, if she passes before me that where I am headed.
