I’m wondering if the dog got loose while walking and the owner couldn’t catch it so they left the crate in the area they last saw it and the dog eventually went into the crate where someone saw it. How else would it escape a closed locked crate. It was probably open because the owner wanted to get the dog to go inside it. Just my opinion. I don’t believe everything I read on the internet probably a way different truthful story to this

Hopefully that's the case, dog looks well taken care of, you would think they would leave some identity on the crate
