Alternative to climbing sticks

Recommended Posts

I know there's been lots of talk about climbing sticks. I to have used them.

I was turned on to these buy another member :piney:and like these alot.

No, there's no big advantage to weight using these. And these were made popular by saddle hunting guys.

Do to my situation in the woods, I have been using a saddle. I used these steps and I really like them. Super simple to attach. Very very solid connection once you get the right slack to cam them over.

I purchased the 12 pack. Without any effort, 24'.

Thanks.....cuz their website does a poor job explaining details of their product

its an interesting product...& I’m sure it can have its applications in certain scenarios

It’s tough to change my ways using the Summit viper tho

One hunt where I’m hunting in Ohio  you would throw the climber in the weeds . Lots of trees to put a gang on . Not a single to tree to use a climber

Hmmm.....what do these woods/trees look like?  I have used my summit as a hang on too.

Not a straight tree that goes up 10 feet without branches .

lots of scrub cherry trees etc .

had my lone wolf out there and couldn’t get within 90 yards of spots I wanted to hunt .

5 minutes was set in tree with sticks and a hang on . Tired of always hunting for a good tree as much as just looking for a good ambush point .

Been using these steps for 3 yrs now with my hang on setups, like them a lot.

Curious, after watching the video Matt linked, as to how you install the steps as you get higher and the tree starts bending and stuff.  Looks like a great idea, i just can't envision how to keep hanging the next step!!!!!
