Sorry for the delayed response.  Have had some things to deal with lately.  I called Godeks earlier this week.  He does have homers and I am going to pick up this weekend.  Thanks!!

That great I used them for years.

There is a way to extend your use of high priced pigeons, if your dog is on a checkcord or is steady.

I've made a few of thewse myself, but Lion country Supply sees this:

I tie a large sinker or old horseshoe to the end and the bird flies about 25 ft.  and then drops out of the sky as if it has been shot when it hits the end of the cord.     You can go to  a craft/sewing supply store and buy the spring loaded closers and make your own.

You could card the pigeons if you have wide open spaces, but if you have trees, like I do,  the birds and the cardboard flapper they are towing gets hung up in them.

This way you can re-use the birds several times, which makes those $10 birds a lot more economical.

Honestly, before I paid ten bucks for a pigeon, I'd buy a chuckar which you can get for nearly the same price.    At least that you can shoot and eat.

Yup that work. Back in the day my first few dog I would card the pigeons. Rhee would fly 50-60 yards and land then I would ether bring the dog back in or collect the bird depending on what kind of drills a was doing. But yea I would get must of my birds back. But then I got smart and built a coop and started a family of good homer’s
