Guy is standing way behind dog making it look much bigger.  With that said, I still think it’s a BIG coyote.  All of our eastern coyotes have wolf DNA in them apparently being why they are so much bigger then their western coyotes.  I have killed coyotes in NJ pushing 60# so I wouldn’t think a 75# coyote is out of the question.  Most of the coyotes I’ve killed even in NJ have more wolf characteristics and looks then domestic dog characteristics or looks so I don’t know what that hunter means by that comment.  I would say my average BIG eastern coyote I’ve killed is about 45# but just like in all animals, there is always that one freak that grows bigger than the rest.  I say it’s a coyote

I say coyote. You can make a house cat look the size of a mountain lion if you stand behind it far enough.   Kinda like when guys take pictures of their deer or fish with their arms extended all the way out.

I killed one in 2014 here in NJ, it was 42#

Biggest I could find killed in the US was 75 pounds and that was out west  and one in Newfoundland that went 82

That 82lb coyote in NFLD was actually later proven to be a wolf.

Thats funny. I got this this pic Thursday night in z16. Haven't seen a coyote in this woods for 15yrs. This is a big one. If you can make out the feeder behind it strapped to the tree. Thats 42" tall

Oh yea hum. If I seen something like that here in NJ I wouldn’t be able to pull the trigger I’d be to worried about getting locked up for killing someone’s dog. Forty years ago things would have been different that’s when there were truly wild dogs roaming the woods and neighborhoods even
