Where Exactly is Tilcon Lake?

Map shows it's south of 80 off of on Waterloo Rd

You can see it from 80 heading East or West at the Bottom of Hackettstown Hill.

Access is from kinney rd there's a metal gate across where you "should" be able to park that's been there for years but there's plenty of spots to pull over along the road there.  It's been a free for all there all summer with large groups of people going in with coolers and giant rafts to party at the lake. You will see a ton of mountain bikers here because this is one of the best access points to the trails in stephens state park. You will need to drag a kayak pretty far to get to the water if your planning to go on the lake.

Take Waterloo road toward Hackettstown. Make a left on Kinney road right before the old Waterloo field concert venue. Lake is on your left side up a quarter mile or so but hard to see from Kinney road so you’ll have to walk down one of the beaten down paths that are visible from that roadside.

Right off Waterloo road.  Got some nice bullheads there this summer.

Thanks a lot, everybody ... both for the maps and the info. Just what I needed. The NJ DEP maps I was looking at didn't actually show it.

That's what sparked my intertest. There was a guy and girl fishing out of kayaks in Split Rock, and they were talking about nice, fat salmon in Tilcon.
