Update

Well guys the "whitetail highway" was closed for business to the big boys and does.. Few fawns playing and a bunch of turkey's. My cousin and I went out scouting around my family's campground in mayslanding (our route is in the pics) we saw a 4 pointer but a club or very in depth hunter already had a very impressive trail set up .. We didn't want to bother them so we kept moving .

We finally got out of the thickest swamp I'd ever seen and chose a test spot in some thicker hard wood forest..

I didn't want to waste any time. So I went out this evening (18 hours later) to see if anything found our corn. 4 different deer hit the pile.. Nothing crazy yet. I don't think any are bragging rights material.. But things are looking up in regards to fresh venison this winter.

I really wish the forest fire that happened a few months ago in commercial twshp didn't burn all my cover [emoji26]. Here's hoping to a productive spot. Don't worry, more scouting too come !

Good luck with the spot! As for the fire, I think in short time you'll think it was the best thing that ever happened when it grows in much thicker. Hope that's the case for you.

I'm sure that will be the case! But, for now, it isn't lol! No body said hunting was easy! I love a good challenge.

18 hours later, 4 different deer hit the pile..

I really wish the forest fire that happened a few months ago didn't burn all my cover.

Oh I know it will ! It's just gonna take some time. The race track also cleared a lot of woods across the street for atv and diet bike use.. Seems like it was time to open my horizon anyway. It's only going to make me a stronger hunter.

Well.. I checked the cam after one week.. A lot more on the pile. Still no trophies, maybe in time. There's definitely some decent does and a couple really ugly bones at this point.

Lol I'm tickled pink. I've only been there for one week. It's private property (my family owns a campground) once all the campers leave.. I know a big boy or two will pop up

I pulled the cam again.. Boy am I happy. I went from 4 deer stopping by. I now have 7-9 pretty consistent visitors.. A couple spikes, a 4 pointer, and a few very ugly 4-6 pointers.. No monsters yet.. Butttttttt things look better each week [emoji106]
