Small Manalapan Stream / Creek

So yesterday and Friday we had an Estate sale in Manalapan........behind the home on West Canadian woods rd.,  was a small stream, it was flowing real nice.......had a few deeper holes, but was devoid of life, I threw a few worms into the water and nothing..........the home owner said he has been there 20 years and there is no fish.............the water had a slight orange tinge.........could it be too acidic ??.........I was just curious and wondering if anyone on here lives near there and knows .........

I have hunted along that creek (millstone river?) for decades &never see fish although i have seen swirls that i was sure were fish.  There must be some suckers in there.  Farm runoff maybe killed them off over the years

It’s listed as Milford Brook but that’s all I know without digging into state stream classification listings by watershed.
