Good night in the rain striper!!!

Got out for a few hours last night and just fished from the shore on hopatcong.  Targeting cats/bulkhead.   I threw my line out and while I was rigging my other pole up my bell started smashing and then my pole almost went into the lake.  Luckily my cousin was right there I told him grab it take it!   We got it in and it was the biggest striper we’ve pulled in out of hopatcong so far.  We also got a nice pile of bullheads/Chanel cat for our late sept fish fry!  The harsh weather actually helped us I think!

Congrats... What did he hit?  I got my biggest on a strip of delaware river shad several years back from a private lake, as I too was going for catfish.

Old beef cubes that were rotten.  It was a total fluke but Definetly fun to kickoff the night of fishing!
