Segment A, Archery Only: October 12-14, 2020
Segment A, Archery and Muzzleloader: October 15-17, 2020
Segment B, Firearm Only: December 7-12; and 16-19, 2020 (if extended)
Legal Hunting Hours: ½ Hour Before Sunrise To ½ Hour After Sunset

I agree at least the big ones of 300 or more pounds where I hunt

If you want to shoot a bear hunt the Newark Watershed. In the last two years I have seen significantly more bears than deer. Just this year so far I have seen five bears.

I don't hunt them because at 72 years old I have enough trouble getting a 150# deer back to my truck. A 300# bear would be impossible.

There going to be some big bears this year and by the time we get him out we will have more then when he took office

I have deer minerals out, the bears do come in smell/taste and move on......so far I have 4 different bears, this one being the biggest so far 375 lbs my estimate, he came in a few times.....I'm tired of baiting them, it's not easy, time consuming and the end results each year all big bears 300 lb or more disappear from my area a few days before the season opens....I will get the tags, and if a good bear walks by I will decide then to take it or not....I shot enough, plus it's expensive for processing and taxidermy work

Good Lord.  Lol. I have a desire to hunt them but no desire to hunt, drag, process a monster like that.  Lol.
