Hey anyone know of Merrill Creek is open? Phone message makes no mention, but posted on website says closed but don’t know if that’s current.

The offices were closed but I exchanged emails with them a several weeks ago.

Just got someone on the phone, they are still closed and monitoring the situation and will open when they think it’s safe. 🤨

Closed.  I live 2 miles from it and drive by every day thinking they arent updating website on purpose to keep people away!!!

Totally private and they control what they want, Unfortunately.   My thinking is they are giving the land, animals and water a break from people and dont want to deal with 1000 people a day showing up right now

The place would be mobbed with nothing else available to recreate. It was built on the condition that it allow public access but can be shut down at the owners discretion in the event of a national emergency.

Merrill Creek per landowners association, targeted to reopen in Late July, early August. It would look like the county pool if open now.  Merrill is my favorite lake to fish. First year I have not been on yet.

Since Merrill Creek is privately owned (I think),  they may not have the same immunity from a law suit should someone get sick that a state or local park park does.  The surrounding state parks (Round Valley, Spruce Run) allow fishing but restroom are closed. My guess  is once NJ fully opens it's state parks, Merrill Creel will reopen.

Listen to you selfish guys out there! 
you’ve all be screaming bloody murder because Murphy won’t open the state up, but because it’s “my favorite fishing spot” you don’t want it opened! 
Surprised at you guys! Just sayin...
 

BTW, the bathrooms at RV are open.
