Too much current to fish small light stuff even if you had a trolling motor. I had to go to a 1oz with UL and 4 lb braid.

Friday there was at least 50 boats fishing in sight at one point fishing.  Most I have ever seen in there. Hate the holiday weekend and all weekends inside.

On a good note a friend fished seabass Friday and they caught 3 fluke (shorts) in 65'-80' of water while fishing for seabass.

You use spot lock , cast up current and work it back the same direction as the drift.

I may even put a 36 volt system on my contender .

last week before the season there was  over 20 boats fishing daily  doing CR.
wonder if those fish pushed out when river started to warm up .

I don't have a spare $2,000+ for my little boat for 3 fish limit. I will just go another day

Get a lot more use out if it than just fluke fishing .

those new set ups let you anchor for blackfish etc by yourself . And in an incredibly safe way .

allows you to get a better drift when there isn’t one .

Time is money also . Wasted unproductive time is just that a waste .

productive fishing time is priceless .

Don't have Hammer $$$ for a 16' boat.

I didn't see one on the front of Contender?

Guy up here are just starting getting them. Down in Florida I have been seeing guys with them fot a few years. For bottom/wreck fishing they are awesome.

Only one that will move the contender is the rhodan. But they are still burning them up even with the 36 volt systems .

I put one on my jet boat for the river , will get me more use out of the boat .

moves that 18’ boat around like a dream .

sure it’s a few bucks , but if it doubles the boats use it’s worth it .

spot lock anchor you could use your boat easier for shad too .

can get a whole day out of one charge ..

.

With a trolling motor ?  . .

minn Kota Ulterra seem to do ok to 28’ . After that guys burned them up in a month .

most guys switched to the rhodan , but they are having the same issue under constant use here holding bigger boats on spot lock .
