I use these 99% of the time for Turkey hunting.  They are light, waterproof, have good traction and I can walk quietly through the woods with them.

I use Muck boots if I know I will need to cross streams or marsh deeper than 6”.    The muck boots are too heavy and hot for me so I try to avoid them.

Hunt with confidence and pay attention to where you're shooting, not where you're stepping. Turtleskin® Snake Armor is made of ballistic fibers in a fabric that is snakebite-proof, windproof, waterproof, and exceptionally flexible. Comfortable in all weather and terrain. Tested with live diamondback strikes and simulated needle strikes. In reversible camo/khaki. One size fits most. Polyester/ballistic fibers. Made in USA.

Lacrosse or muck

Between turkey, bow, and trapping , a pair never lasts too long.

Interesting coincidence that you just mentioned that. I was just out with my $160 Lacrosse rubber boots yesterday and for the first time had a small leak ... was walking through shin high water and felt water trickle in.

These boots are JUST over 1 year old (I got them last April) - so just past warranty. In fact, I got these from Cabelas as part of a warranty return on a pair of Cabela boots I bought the year before that (I was still within warranty for those - but because the Cabela boots I wanted to exchange were not in stock, they sent me these Lacrosse boots instead - they were twice the price I paid for the Cabelas boots (which I got on sale) - so I thought it was good Cableas customer service).

I thought a $160 pair of boots would last at least a couple years.. nope. In addition to the leak I just noticed, the inside fabric in these Lacross boots started tearing within months (I did a repair job myself on that before the tear got too bad - it is what caused me to return those Cabelas pair - so I had the same problem with both pairs- that repair has lasted so far). In the process of attempting to fix the leak by the heal with some shoe-glue, I noticed bad cracking on the top of the boot toward the toes! IMO, $160 boots should not do this when they are just 1-year old!

If all rubber boots last just a year, I'm gonna stick with buying the Cabelas boots when they go on sale - I'd rather spend $70 every 13-14 months then twice that when I'm going to get the same amount of time with them.

I've been using the Irish Setter style snake boot for early fall season hunting and turkey season. Always seem to tear up my rubber boots easily at times, started wearing these and they have been good so far. I try and get them when they are on sale
