Got it done this morning.

Woke up this AM and knees were killing me (was supposed to have knee surgery April 2) and was not sure I wanted to make the long walk to where I hunt, but I was so bored yesterday I just had to go out. Stepped into the wood and started the long walk up hill through the muddy woods and in 5 minutes hear gobbles, got to the spot I wanted to set up put the decoys out then sat down to say my prayers and a gobbler started behind me. I was hunkered down against a dead fall and he came in so close behind me it had to be no more than 10 ft. I just clucked and purred  and he started around to my left and I could just barely see his head then it spotted my decoy and fanned up that was the end of the game for him. 10 1/8" beard, 1 1/4" spurs. Now at 68 years old all I could thing about was now I had to carry him out with all my gear through those muddy woods. I was hurting so bad by the time I got to the truck I promised myself NEVER AGAIN without the QUAD when I am alone. I am getting to OLD FOR THIS without help. :-)

Good job Bushden! Get yourself a turkey tote like this, believe it or not it makes a world of difference. 2 years ago I doubled up with my buddy, I took mine out and he started making fun of me, when we got close to the trucks we switched birds so he could see the difference. He stopped making fun of me.
