Can you explain what you have going on with that DIY heater?  I would think heating it in some way and running water through it to warm it then put it back in the pool.

Homemade job straight up hillbilly but gets job done in kids and adults in pool for close to half the year.

I burn wood and recycled motor oil

its not bad once it gets going being an inground pool I get a lot of leaves I need to drag off the top but once the salt system is running things tend to take care of themselves.  but when things go bad its costly...
