That's great, but man it had to be COLD!  Very cool DIY heater!

Can you explain what you have going on with that DIY heater?  I would think heating it in some way and running water through it to warm it then put it back in the pool.

Have to disagree, once up and running and chemicals in check pretty much runs itself, other than dropping the robot in once a week

Homemade job straight up hillbilly but gets job done in kids and adults in pool for close to half the year.

its not bad once it gets going being an inground pool I get a lot of leaves I need to drag off the top but once the salt system is running things tend to take care of themselves.  but when things go bad its costly...

Saltwater systems are pretty much maintenance free.
