What kind of skull?

How big is it? Horse?

10.5" from the back of the head to the tip of the snout.  I don't think its a horse-I just googled and the nasal cavity on a horse looks a lot larger.  Plus, he picked this up in the middle of a hayfield-the neighboring farm has no animals.  In fact, the nearest farm that I know of with any horses at all is about a mile down the road and I know those folks.  If they were missing a horse (or if anybody was around here) I'd hear about it.  This isn't an old skull either-there is still meat on it in spots.

I got a shotgun a rifle and a four wheel drive and a country boy can survive

I think Bones is right.  The above skull is a female domestic pig.  The nasal cavity matches up as do the holes on either side of the snout.  There are a few folks who raise pigs around here but not on the farm where it was found.  I suppose a turkey buzzard could have picked it up somewhere else and dropped it, or a yote carried it.

Pigs escape and can move great distances, that's what most likely happened.
Vultures don't do take out, they eat in place:happywave:

And to come across as a complete bird geek, buzzards are hawks so vultures are not buzzards...(technically):happywave:
