Cutco Kitchen Knives

Thinking of purchasing a set, not cheap but a friends daughter sells them....they are made very well, sharp, lifetime warranty ......anyone own them?

good topic, i do all the cooking in my house and i like it that way. i have been shopping around for a good chefs knife. right now i have a walmart special. i would like a high end chefs knife.

They're great knives. A friend of mine has a set and swears by them. I would love to get a set but can't justify to my self dropping that kind of money on them.

They are good knives. I've sent some back to the factory with 10 dollars and they will sharpen them to factory specs.

When I was flying for the Navy, we evaluated the Cutco hunting knife as a possible replacement for the one we were using.  One of our pilots successfully cut through an F-4 Phantom canopy with it.  I own 2 and they are the best knives I have.  Both are over 50 years old.

GREAT knives, 

I have a set since 1982, and they are as sharp as the day I bought them.

Their Double D grind is awesome.

I have a full kitchen set my wife bought from our nephew, they are very sharp.  I know a few other people that have them and have sent them back to the manufacture (one of them was a handle that melted when it was put too close to the flame on the stove) and had new ones returned to them.
