Public land i sit in natural blinds for this reason or ill use my climber. My ladder stands are only on my private pieces...

Definitely not cool.  Hopefully karma pays a visit.

 

On the other side of the coin, I personally don't like seeing people leave stands on public land year round.  There are at least a half dozen stands I've seen up year round on the public land across the road all less than a 10 minute walk from the parking area.  And, several used screw in steps which are now grown into the tree and the straps/chains are girdling the bark now too since they've never been adjusted for tree growth...

I use a combination of mobile set up and fixed positions.  Over the last ten years hunting WMA, i average about one stand stolen per year and about 1/2 camera per year.

I know how you feel. Had a trail cam stolen from private property a few years back. I'm lucky I didn't catch the guy...
