Doe Management Key to Big Bucks

Thanks to my buddy Bill and his Dad who helped out on the Iowa farm with 2 huge does. After hunting this last week of late muzzy, and passing on approximately 30 different rack bucks they took these does. Two shooters were in range but several deer screening the shooter prevented an ethical shot one day. Fading light and standing corn saved another shooter. The biggest buck they saw had shed one side!  Proper buck to doe ratio, and deer within the carrying capacity ensures bucks express their full potential. These does are the biggest body does they ever shot. Big horse heads!

Yep , while many guys want as many does around as possible . Mature bucks only want to be around them a few weeks a year .

too many does , cause serious competition for all the best food around .

keeping those numbers down def helps buck get the food they need easier
