Venison Galumpkis

Saw this recipe on Facebook. I added mushrooms and cheese to the recipe. Mix 1lb chopped venison with 2 cups of rice, 1/2 onion chopped, salt, pepper and garlic. I put the cabbage head in a large bowl of water and microwaved it for 15 minutes. Add mixture to cabbage leaves and place in baking dish. Pour 1 can of tomato sauce And mushrooms over the rolls. Baked at 375 for 40 minutes. Added cheese for the last 8 minutes.

Yep. had them all the time growing up. My Gandmother, also a Ukie, pronounced them (in ebonics ) ha-loop-kis.
