6 Day firearm regs question

Printed black and white in the digest. Page 35 under bag limits.

• Firearm hunters legally may take two antlered deer during the Six-day Firearm Season on a firearm or All-around Sportsman License. Hunters will be assigned a Confirmation Number upon reporting their first Six-day Firearm Season buck using the new Automated Harvest Report System, allowing the immediate pursuit and harvest of a second buck.

The grey area is the term "at a time" as stated in the Permit Season as opposed to "legally take" at "separate times". Hard to enforce don't you think?

Probably. I would think if you report one then report the other immediately after receiving your first confirmation it would be a red flag to the CO. I think you would get a visit or phone call asking to explain the situation.

You only have one 6 day buck tag. That means you can only harvest one at a "time". That means harvest, report, get confirmation number, and you can pursue a second. If that's "same" day or not is not clear. Once you report first buck, the system recognizes your ability to report a second.

Let's get real here, if you shot two bucks "at once", and reported them separately, how would they know. It's a little unenforceable unless a CO catches you or someone reports you.

If you hunt a zone where it states "two deer may be taken at a time", you can shoot two does or a buck and a doe at the "same time" if properly licensed/permitted during a "permit" season. During 6 day, you would tag the buck with your 6 day license buck stub and the doe with your permit stub.

You confused yet?

They write these regs like they give 2 shits about slaughtering the herd. What a joke. Like 6 days where you cant shoot a doe out of a 6 month season will make a difference  as they hand out permits to farmers to shoot them all night long for months.
