Manual meat grinder problem

Bones

Recommended Posts

So I bought a Weston #22 manual meat grinder for grinding up pheasant and quail breast. I used it last night and the blade and plate kept getting clogged I had to clean it every 3 minutes is this typical with manual meat grinders or am I doing something wrong.

Meat needs to be real cold going through a grinder or it heats up and gums up everything. You might want to go through a bigger plate to start then regrind through the smaller plate

I used a hand grinder for many years, if meats warm not as easy but NOT the issue you are having,  your cutter is not tight to the plate. Take it apart and check contact between plate and cutter,  if not tight might need to shim back of cutter to push tight to plate.

Fix that and it will work like a charm

Not a complete a$$ hole just one of the dingle berries that hang off it.
