Baiting stealing from DP traps

Recommended Posts

3 of my DP traps had their bait stolen with setting them off. I'm using dog food and mini marshmallows.

Any thoughts of what's doing on or any adjustments I should make?

Mice do steal bait out of DPs. The usually don't set off the trap. If they do they get squished. Got a few over the years. I would make sure your bait is also under the trigger, so it can be pulled up and set off with a catch.

Haha, having the same problem in one spot ...something is eating all the bait out of the dp but not setting it off

I've had a few smaller coons able to somehow get it out without setting off the trigger. I started smearing some on trigger. They just cant resist trying to get that last bit off of there

Options

1-Set on a hair trigger

2-Golf ball on top

3- plastic coon cap

4- spear a large marshmallow on trigger.

5- and my super secret system....stack two or three gummy lifesavers on the trigger .... Don't tell anyone.
