Paying to trap....is this a thing

Recommended Posts

So I had some random guy approach me today while I was cleaning the gutters. He said he doesn’t hunt but he traps. He asked if I would be willing to allow him to trap once deer season ended. It took me a minute to process what he was asking, but the stench of whiskey coming from his mouth woke me back up.

So is this even a actual thing? Seems like it would take a lot of fur to make it worth it unless guys enjoy it that much.

Just for the record

Trappere provide a service to landowners for free.

It's the landowner that pays the trapper when service is much needed.

You doing any this year?  I will trap some. The farm I hunt needs few fox removed.  I haven't taken any in two years.

I ran my first trapline when the Vietnam war was still raging and we hadn't walked on the moon yet.... And I haven't missed a season since...

Yep, I'll trap this year.
