archer36 Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 Killing big bucks requires a few things. It has to exist. You have to put in some time. You have to make the shot. Or you just get lucky. Most important, he has to exist in order to kill him. electric10162, Booner, Farmshine and 1 other 3 1
Hunter24 Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 Best advice I can offer I learned from a friend who always shot good bucks and that is: “stop shooting every deer you see” lol. Seriously though, selective hunting generates solid results. I stopped shooting every doe in sight and started letting a lot of smaller bucks continue on their journey. I still shoot does but I try and make sure it’s a big lone doe or not in my “buck” spots. Secondly you can’t go wrong with what Hunter115522 said, got to be in it to win it. Best of luck to you. ratherbhunting, Booner, nb6624 and 2 others 3 2
NotJust22s Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 Gotta be where they are, you can't kill what's not there. Rusty, Tarhunt and not on the rug 1 2
Booner Posted November 12, 2019 Author Posted November 12, 2019 I mean I think I'm doing it correct. Trying to follow scent control, hunting the winds, hunting doe bedding areas. I could be wrong though. I mean Frankie drives down the road and takes pictures of them everyday. I'm either hunting Illinois or zone 2 from now on. Pathman Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 I know it’s an old cliche, but it’s one of the most appropriate, “location, location, location...” Rusty 1
