I’m heading up to Conesville, NY... what are you guys doing with the deer now that you can’t bring them back to NJ butchers? Obviously if you do your own not an issue, but what does everyone else going to do?

Glad to see so many heading north. I have not gone in a few years and miss it. work always in the way but pays the bills.

Where did you see we cannot bring it to NJ butchers?

It’s posted on most of the butchers I use website/FaceBook it’s guidance from the NJ Division of Fish and Wildlife.

Not hunting the opener this year.  My host is in Wisconsin chasing monsters.  Will be heading up next Friday (Nov 22) instead.  Will be 2 of us on 150 acres of really nice deer woods.

It's a recommendation, not a mandate. Big difference

There is an exemption allowing transportation through NY back to NJ.

Good news Bucndoe! Does anyone know any butchers in central NJ that will take NY deer all 3 of my normal shops won’t take them

Was a really quiet opening day in Greene county, heard a few shots hear and there but not many.  So far we have two eight pointers down from my group.  Not monsters but not bad for this area.  Got this one yesterday.

Allegany 7 point, broken rack. Ran 150 yards after 2 solid kill shots. Antlers nothing special, but a rutty old buck. These drags in the woods aren't getting any easier....
