Hunted ducks in 17 this morning , with only one going over before  first light . Quiet after that . Headed to jump some birds in 48 , found nothing there either ! While walking in I joked to my buddy watch us bump a big buck. Well .... as I turned out of the woods and got to my truck , I was confronted by the biggest 6 pointer I’ve ever seen in my life . He gave zero craps I was there and continued walking by at less than 30 yards .... all I could do was put those bad thoughts of “I wonder if #2 steel shot will drop this hog?” Away and watch him walk out of my life .

Climbed in at 1:30 and this guy come in at 1:38.  Nice young 8 pointer.

Saw a couple bucks this morning in 48 including a chase going on. Up in tree in zone 18 now. Havent hunted this stand in a couple weeks and no bait. So see what happens. Good luck to everyone.

Pulled in my driveway at noon a big buck in my woods near my stand closest to my yard. Glassed him. Never seen  him before. High beam long G2 6 point mainframe   But two little crab claws at tips. 8pt but barely. Might have shot it!  Got back in truck followed it across neighbor driveway.  Was not on my trail cam though. Up on my powerline stand since 1 pm. He might be up here but really hoping for a slammer.  First sit in this spot all season.

you have a great buck on the ground already . Sit tight and wait for the right one now.

Just got in z16. Feels like a good afternoon. Similar conditions to when I killed a good buck a few years ago on the afternoon of the 9th. Good luck to all that are out.
