Was able to take vac hours off of work at noon today. Just made it up to Flatbrook with Jr and a friend who offered to run his 2 Brittany Spaniels. Nobody here!

1st field cockbird just got up flew right over us and Jr made a sweet shot folding it!!

So cool to be out. Pics soon...

Ran my GSP with another GSP at Colliers Mills and our group of 5 limited out..... super great morning... and they were all really nice big healthy cock birds.

I thought, growing old would take longer !

I spent most of my money on shotguns and fly rods.  The rest I just wasted.

What an awesome time this afternoon. Pulled into the Roy Bridge in Walpack and hunted the back fields. Other than 4 guys trout fishing in the hole under the bridge, there was not anyone to be seen. After my son shot the cockbird the Brittany's locked up several more times and we took some great pics and video. He shot another hen with the 20 gauge 870 about an hour later. As we were walking back to the cars, one of the dogs locked up again...I took a pic as the hen bird was pinned to the ground hiding...amazing how many birds are walked passed without a good dog

In all, 7 birds were put up in an hour and a half and was an awesome afternoon to be out with my son. These days are going to go by way too fast....20191102_155909.thumb.jpg.12fa0686a7144a5d981bcd0126b6229d.jpg20191102_162104.thumb.jpg.fc861a3a8afbf6f75dd39ca4af0ffdba.jpg20191102_162537.thumb.jpg.e21f1252f676ff2e778f1c48ceff22e5.jpg

Nice job RPK! Funny you should say that about the birds. The rooster was very heavy and the hen was almost as big! Not sure if the birds are from another place or not this year, but definitely not like the small/skinny stocked birds in past years...

All week the youths can pursue pheasants....and mine are off school all wk!!  I think I proposed that idea a few yrs ago,  but never got recognition for it!  Lol

Great idea. Post up pics if you get out with the kids! We are now looking forward to the opener on Saturday.

Get tick spray. I didn't spray Jr or I down and we were covered.....Bought some today and will treat the clothes on Friday....Good luck!

Proposed to whom?
