I'm leaving early Thursday morning to go down to my mom's farm to do some striper fishing with my son, do some scouting for deer and then head out Saturday morning for the muzzleloader opener. My son has not seen any buck activity at all and has been out with his crossbow but, only saw one doe so far in his last three outings. There's still been alot of flooding so, getting around is going to be a challenge. I'll be checking the cameras and looking for any ground scrapes and then come up with a game plan. At least, it's going to be in the 40's Saturday morning. I'll keep you guys posted.

I’ll be at our place as well on Friday for the opener. I’m only able to hunt thru Tuesday due to wife having to travel. Sucks but I’m going to make the best of it

Good luck. I'm glad that it's going to be cold on Saturday and Sunday. Normally, it's 70 degrees or warmer out and the mosquitoes are horrible.

Good luck, safe travels!

I may have missed this at some point but any idea if the "Palminator" is still around?

This is the first year that we did not get him on any of the cameras and my son was watching out for him. No sightings at all. One of the neighbors that a big buck was hit with buckshot on a nearby deer drive but, they never recovered the deer. I'll be checking all of the cameras when I get down there.
