Popular Post LPJR Posted October 29, 2019 Popular Post Posted October 29, 2019 (edited) Pretty cool the way things happen actually..Set up a new spot with 3Blade last week where the homeowner asked that I try for a big doe with a bad foot/leg, no joke. Put up a cam and have lots of deer on cam including some nice young bucks showing.. Fast forward to tonight as I was able to get out of work at 1530 to get in the blind..Immediately upon sitting down and setting up the xbow on the fieldpod, I realized the set up was not good. Being on a hill with the field below me angled down, the windows to the blind were way too high...Within minutes of getting settled a spike came down from the woods checking for does. Shortly after with good light a deer came past the blind no less than 1 foot away from behind me .The doe was huge and the goal at this spot was to take some deer for the homeowner. But, I was waiting to see what happened as it was the first time in this setup...she was looking where she came from constantly and 20 minutes later an 8 pointer was in the setup posing at 18 yards away. He was a nice 2.5 year old buck but not what I wanted to hang my tag on this early in permit. I stood up as quietly as possible in the blind as the doe was still 8 yards away ..Sent the Hypodermic and she took off snowplowing the ground and made it to 15-20 yards. The buck took this time to return and "get close" to her until I left the blind.. This is the funny part..The homeowner was watching from her house and came out with her young son to see the deer. I showed the big doe to both of them and they were loving it. The homeowner proceeded to ask if it was the doe with the injured foot and sure enough it was...She told 3Blade and I that this exact doe proceeded to kick her cat that was hissing at it near the deck 2 weeks ago...Can't make this sh$# up!! **Attached 2 pics of the bright orange lumenok and bolt on the way, taken from the laptop screen. Just watched the video and it came out crystal clear. Will try to attach it to this thread if able to. Edited November 11, 2019 by LPJR Live to Hunt, BillW0323, Coyoteslayer and 36 others 35 1 3
