yoda4x4 Posted October 27, 2019 Posted October 27, 2019 Does anyone know if the algae bloom that was observed in both these bodies of water is gone? And, I'm interested in taking my daughter fishing in one of these tomorrow. Which one would you suggest for just catching "stuff"? Thanks guys. David
ratherbhunting Posted October 27, 2019 Posted October 27, 2019 I was at spruce run 2 weeks ago and they still had signs for HAB, if you check their web site it says it is still there. https://www.state.nj.us/dep/parksandforests/parks/spruce.html I also stopped by Round Valley and the water was so low I couldn't get my boat in there without swamping my Suburban. Good luck
iluv2hunt Posted October 27, 2019 Posted October 27, 2019 Take a ride up to Merrill creek. You have better odds of catching something from shore
NJREALTOR Posted October 28, 2019 Posted October 28, 2019 Since there's no creeks feeding RV they did not have an algae bloom. They are drawing the water down for scheduled work to the dams.

Good luck I have a 12ft boat. What size do you have? Take a ride up to Merrill creek. You have better odds of catching something from shore I'll be bringing my boat. Any suggestions on where to go? I've never heard of Merrill Creek.DavidSent from my moto g(7) power using Tapatalk
iluv2hunt Posted October 29, 2019 Posted October 29, 2019 It’s electric motors only at Merrill creek. It’s in Harmony twp. Warren county. Look it up on the internet. There’s hood large and small mouth fishing. There’s lake trout and lots of other pan fish. Lots of standing timber along the edges.
Tuck Posted October 29, 2019 Posted October 29, 2019 Water is WAY down at Spruce Run too. No issues at Merrill Creek. Timbers just to the right of boat launch should provide all the fish you and your daughter need for the day!! Good Luck
