Zone 2 Rut Thoughts

Unfortunately, I haven't had as much time to get in the woods as often as I'd like this year. I plan on getting in the woods starting next Friday through the following weekend and wanted to see if anyone had any feedback to provide pertaining to any rutting or pre-rut activity they're experiencing in zone 2. I walked some of my areas this morning and haven't see too much buck signs aside from a few scrapes, so wanted to see what everyone else was seeing out there. Reading about some early rut action on here so hoping I didn't miss it!!

Things seem to be hopping right now.

Was out in zone 2 this afternoon. Saw 2 bucks chasing. Things seem to be heating up

I'm next door in zone 4, I watched yesterday a 6 pointer chase a doe, and she allowed him to hammer Jack her

In Zone 2 Mt Salem. Very quiet all day today. Nothing much on cams either.

Woods are on fire. Like a switch was turned on-as early as two weeks ago..

While at work today I filmed with my cell 8 bucks (spikes and baskets) chasing a doe. She was being guarded by a big 8 with a white/gray muzzle who would growl and roar like I have never heard before at any buck that tried to get near her. 

It was like watching a bull fight as the big buck was spinning around on and charging the other bucks. Was unbelievable. (Zone 13)

Next cold front kicks it off. D pends on what you consider a mature animal though. Basket racks are acting stupid. Still no heavy daytime travel

Z13 was pretty hot this morning. I was covered up in deer, mainly young bucks cruising. Also had a big 8pt pushing a doe around and chasing off the young bucks. I almost got him until the doe lead him off in the wrong direction.

Zone 2 has been hopping!! Im in Andover and have seen chasing, heard grunting, watched bucks standing over does etc. When it really hits its gonna be wild!

It was like that here in Zone 2 until Thursday. Then nothing since.
