03/22/14: Shed(less) hunting

Spent a few hours scouring a local park for sheds. Found well over 100 rubs, all kinds of bones from carcasses and even a fresh kill...but no sheds. Couldn't believe it!

I'm still shed-less as well.  I did another 4.5 miles on Friday.  I found a couple potential spots but not much other than that.  At least you found a couple antlers on that skull!

Speed search for deer crap and lots of it, start gridding from there.. move through woods looking and doing the same. Good luck.

I saw a FB post yesterday with cam pics from Illinois I believe where bucks were still holding. I've seen them hold into April in prior years but I would think with the stress of this winter they would have all been dropped for awhile now here in NJ!

Wow that's unreal! OK, I'm totally leaning on that as the reason I didn't find any sheds yesterday! hahaha

Two hours today. Followed a deer trail thru the brush for about half of it and nothing. Still a great day out.
