Target Buck down

Sorry for the delay,,,,,,just dropped deer off at butcher. Not the best looking buck but one i have history with. I shot this deer last year as a big mature 8 around the same time. I thought I put a good hit on him, but after not finding him, he showed up on camera a few weeks later. I was glad he was alive. I shot him at last light quartering away and shot him in the ass! Well, he was back around this year as a 1x3 freak. He has a battle wound scar on his hind leg, lol, but this time I put him down. I was after this Buck or another good 8 I have pics of. I went in Tuesday with my climber because the wind was unfavorable for my lock on. In the distance, I saw the big 8 on a run behind me. With the same wind today, I set up closer to that run, but in a spot that I figured the deer may travel heading to my bait site which was about 50 yards away. About 6 o'clock I had an few does come in right under me, just out of my wind. I knew if one of those bucks took same trail, I was gonna get him. A few minutes later a spike went through and my target buck was not far behind. I settled the pin on him and let the arrow fly. I was a little nervous because I did not get a pass through but knew I got good penetration. I was almost positive I heard him drop but I packed up and waited for my good hunting friend to assist. We found good blood at the shot sight, but that was it! I started a grid search and found him piled up about 60 yards away. It was a great hunt, and I finally outsmarted this big old buck. I'm gonna have him aged as I am curious to how old he is. Amazing seeing what he was and what he became after that terrible shot. I love when a plan comes together,,,,,,,,finally.
