Pheasant in a crockpot!

Im taking credit for this recipe as I made it up on the fly and its great.....

Breast out the pheasant.

Clean thoroughly...I soaked in salt water for a few hours and it leeched the blood out.

Salt and pepper the breast.

Cover with strips of bacon.

In a bowl

dump a can of mushroom soup

a big heaping tablespoon of Dijon mustard and crushed garlic

and a can of water

mix it all together

layer breast in crockpot covering each with the mushroom soup mix

should about cover your pheasant..i did 4 in the pot...

heat on high for 5 hours OR low for 10...

The pheasant was soooo tender it fell off the bone and the flavor was fantastic!!!!

edited.....had to correct the time cooked!

Thanks for sharing and glad it turned out yummy. :)  I'm becoming a huge fan of the crockpot lately (b/c I loathe cooking).  Mushroom soup is good for a ton of meats.  I've also found that the McCormicks Slow Cookers spices really add a ton of flavor to anything you cook (pulled meats, stews, roasts).  I've got a small venison stew going now with some red peppers, onions and potatoes.

You said you had it on high for 5 hours and low for 10...that worked?  I'd be afraid of overcooking it!  Maybe I'm in fact, not cooking my stuff enough in the slow cookers.  I usually have on high for 4 hours OR low for about 8.  I've never really done the combo before.

I meant to say cook on high for 5 hours OR low for 10 hrs....NOT BOTH!!!!   It will overcook!!!

I live by myself so crockpot is awesome. I just throw something in and come back later and its done....I don't eat fast food EVER....

Trust me though...I think the Dijon mustad in the mix is what did the trick... It was unreal... Cant wait to try it on some grouse
