Turnpike Deer

Spotted a nice doe yesterday along the turnpike, north bound ,just south of Vince Lombardi rest stop.

Sorry no time for pic...

Will be ready next time passing that area.

First deer I ever seen in that area, true swamp deer.

 

My partner and myself seen two does a couple months ago under the billboard at Giants Stadium...

Those must be different deer, or they walked across the rt. 3 bridge, or swam over the Hackensack river to get to the turnpike.

 

I think there migrating south trying to get away from all the wolves up north.

I've seen a few deer on 287...literally on 287.  In one section there were three deer carcasses within a mile of each other.  A few on 17 north too.

When I traveled 287 back in college, and 78, there were deer all over the roads (dead and alive) during the fall.  A few does always got hit when transitioning from winter to summer areas too.

I've heard about deer being seen in that entire meadowlands area 20 years ago. I've never seen one in that area. I have no idea how they are surviving in there, there is not much for them to eat.

I see deer in Lodi, & Saddle Brook, friends seen them in WoodRidge, down around Giants Stadium I have seen them from time to time. Seen deer in the middle of Rahway, Clark, and lots of deer including some very big bucks on the grounds of Rahway State Prison ........ Been seeking permission to bow hunt it, one buck I swear is 225 lbs., at least a 12 pt or more, has to be 160" plus
