my VPA heads are boring. I never get to buy anything new. This is just for the EAB doe - want to see how they perform. Only carrying one of these swhackers with me.  Figured I blow through deer even very large deer and burying so deep in the dirt, why not try to put that wasted energy to use and try a wide cut...   I always was a BH junkie just have not tried anything else since I switched to VPA in 2010.

I'd say schwackers or grim reapers would be the way to go if you're dabbling with expandable heads.  NAP spitfires are a good head too.

Grim Reaper I know you like 3 blades - saw these in the shop, looked very well made.. "B3 Exoskeletal".

any broadhead using an o ring is going to whistle.

Best three blade heads on the market are

Grim Reaper whitetail special pro series

Dead Ringer Freak Nasty extreme

Spitfires

I forgot about those Dead Ringers.  I've heard nothing but amazing things about them too.

The new ones use a retaining clip at the point .

you can switch that out for a solid metal collar and practice without the head opening in the target.

very well made ,

blades are spring steel , so usually if hit something hard the blades bend instead of breaking .

so still get full blade cuts .

they are extremely well sharpened  .

First Jack buys expandable broad heads, next he will change political parties and sell all of his fishing poles....... We may need to have an intervention.

I may just give up hunting all together!!!

In the meantime, I am ready to "hear the SWHACK!"

You are going to like those Swhackers Jack.  I put two bands around mine.

but you are using xbow with them, my 60# Triax should be fine...   Right?  Seems like a lot of resistance needed with even single band to get them to open

I don’t know. Both fly perfect and hit same POI as field point. One solid steel no welds and tons of success, and just got it shaving sharp. The other looks like a toy.  But - will give it a shot.

Jack, if you’re going to dabble into expandable why didn’t you just buy grim reapers? No bands, no lining up collars or other bs.

it's all good.   As we all know - SHOT PLACEMENT first and foremost.  Come big buck time  - pretty sure the VPA will get the call.   Just wanna hear the SWHACK, ya know - like Hank Parker says...
