Really do use tree-of-heaven as their host tree.

At least what ever it is that they secrete kills the stiltgrass…………………...

Horrible effers - I tread on them when I saw them.  I have noticed them heading East over the years - they are now this side of Allentown on Rt 78...

Another invasive pest.  

I wouldn't mind them putting a hurting on the Ailanthus and the stiltgrass.  Are there specific native species that they impact more than others?

From what I know, they use Ailanthus almost exclusively, at least for now, as their host tree.  Whatever it is they secrete kills anything below.  I guess the bigger issue is crop damage at some point in their life cycle.  There are so many down in Hunterdon and Mercer County, that, I'd say, if it's as big a problem as forecast, we are all gonna know it soon.........

Saw one on my windshield yesterday, I killed it
