Custom bear mount - behind the scenes

Just completed this bear mount.

No form fit this particular size bear. So I had to buy one somewhat close and alter the size. Then I had to change it's boring pose into the customers desired look- looking up aggressive, open mouth, swatting at something.

 

So I decided to have him attacking a hive, I built a habitat , got the largest tree I could find, which wasnt tall enough so I elevated the habitat so he can be reaching for the treetop.

 

I then found out noone sells artificial hornets, so I made some out of sculpt clay and wire and painted them.

 

It came out pretty sweet! On to the next one!
