JHbowhunter Posted August 15, 2019 Posted August 15, 2019 I have to admit I was not one to jump on the "ozonics" bandwagon but never doubted that ozone is indeed a top odor eliminator, since I know commercial units are used to rid homes of smoke smell after a house fire. I still have no desire to cart one up in a tree, or breath ozone inside a ground blind.... BUT - Having bought a cheap, cigarette lighter unit for the car off Amazon a few years ago (not even a known brand like ScentCrusher) and seeing how well it eliminated mouse urine odors from my Mother's jeep, I was even more a firm believer. Started treating my hunting clothes "inside the vehicle" a bit last season, and felt that it was making a difference. Fast forward to today - I had 105 cabalas points to burn on my credit card, and was considering a ScentCrusher bag - but then found that Scentlok makes one "better". Slightly bigger - waterproof, and has ozone chambers throughout the bag to promote equitable distribution. Reviews were excellent. On sale from $219 down to $149. I took the plunge. Not sure I would put my rubber boots in there I understand it breaks down rubber rather quickly but the clothing from underwear to base layers to camo is all going in there! https://www.cabelas.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=2866758&type=product&WT.z_btnclk=YMAL-2866758&WT.z_pg_ref=prd2774629 rackemup, Lphunsjr and LPJR 3 Nothing spooks deer more than my stank… 17 7/8” Live Fluke Release Club I shot a big 10pt once….
Slayer1962 Posted August 15, 2019 Posted August 15, 2019 I have the "normal bag" I ruined rubber suspenders in it. I use it regularly and like it. I rotate the socks i use ( elastic) and do only older underwear that i do not care about ( elastic) . I know my clothes smell fresh even if i sweat in them in am and run on lunch they smell fresh. ( No i cannot wash my clothes in my SUV on lunch lol) If nothing else it keeps my gear together and makes me smell better to myself lol JHbowhunter 1
Gunsmoke Posted August 15, 2019 Posted August 15, 2019 I bought this one and it's done nothing for my wife's car but she's smoked in the car for many years. Regardless, the unit has been on over a 1/2 dozen times for hours and it didn't help one bit. We'll try shampooing the interior and give it another whirl. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FMH8P1R/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

buckfever1974 Posted August 15, 2019 Posted August 15, 2019 I have the Scent Crusher brand bag. Not sure what experience you all have with it regarding scent elimination but it comes our reaking of ozone smell. Could go in with an odor but I can't tell if the old odor was eliminated or the strength of the smell of the ozone just masks it. The bag is zipper up tight when we do it in the living room but the ozone smell takes over the whole downstairs. Not sure if it's just our Scent Crusher bag or if this brand is any better.

The smoke smell is buried in there and needs to come in contact with the ozone as well.DavidSent from my moto g(6) play using Tapatalk Gunsmoke, Swamprat, _X7 and 1 other 4

David Sent from my moto g(6) play using Tapatalk good point David, and based on that theory, one should run it on the 'recirculate" setting so it draws air from inside the vehicle (and the ozone) and not fresh air from outside the vehicle. tcook8296 Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 I have the scent crusher bag. Im one of the biggest skeptics of the ozonics but the bag makes a difference. I find best results when your clothes in the bag the day or night before then hang outside if possible to air out. You will smell the ozone. The deer will smell it too but it doesnt seem to alert them. Usually just a nose in the air if they do pick it up. Airing your clothes out backed up with a scent eliminator will help get rid of the ozone odor. I have noticed a difference as most of my hunting is now in the midwest chasing the more mature whitetails , my time is limited so I dont get to sit around waiting for the perfect wind. Its always breezy/windy out there and Im hunting some pretty rugged country with mostly steep hills and hollows. The wind is changing directions snd swirling all the time. Its definately not hurting my hunting and I have the confidence to hunt my stands on marginal wind conditions. I still pay attention to the wind direction but when i feel the wind change, Im not getting down and blowing the place out. Swamprat, Lphunsjr and JHbowhunter 3 www.liftxrentals.com
