Now This Guy Is A True POS !!!!! (video)

That dude should be done in whatever state he was in.

Couple issues....Hes on a snowmobile trail and so is the moose...

He keeps pulling closer to the moose...

The snow outside the trail looks to be pretty deep....

The moose is not leaving the trail....

After he continues to advance on trail the moose does what its instincts tell it to do and this putz shoots it as it runs away...

Now the snowmobiler had the option to just leave the moose alone and wait for it to leave but being in a obvious rush that wasn't happening.

If I were the game wardens there he would get absolutely banged....

Wanton Molestation of wildlife...

Unlawful killing of a big game animal....

and every other possible change that would go with it there....

Maybe it's just me but looked like a clean shoot.... infact I know just about everyone of you would have shot it during the first attack...  A 1000 to 2000 pound moose isn't anything to play with... the animal had just attacked him...and the first shot as it spoted and turned to look back, looked like it was over it's head... then once it started to charge he shot till the threat was nutralized....

If your gonna pull your side arm it's not meant to threaten it's there to kill and protech yourself.... I would never turn my back or run from a wid animal... when you flee or retreat you give the agressure the upper hand... Personally I would have stood my ground too...

I saw a younger moose charge a tropper in Alaska and he gunned it down before it got withing 10' of him... I see this as justifiable... Would you want to substain a life threating injury out in the deep wilderness... I doutb it... would your oppinion be different if that was a bear instead of a moose ?

While I understand your viewpoint almost every state has a law where you cannot molest wildlife if its not being hunted. This guy kept advancing towards the moose until the moose charged. The guy had ample opportunity to stop short and back off from the moose. Im pretty sure if it was a brown bear or a mountain lion that guy wouldn't have got that close. He caused the confrontation with the animal by harassing it. I for one would like to know what became of this guy as a result of this video?

I watched the video again and the guy clearly was far away from the animal when he saw it started clapping his hands to get it to move and then pulled towards the animal provoking the animal into a confrontation. I just feel like the guy could have done a whole lot to avoid the moose instead of pulling up to it.

For harassing the animal that I can see him getting a ticket for and for the way he approached the moose was foolish to say the least... but he also didn't run in their guns ablazing he pulled his side arm only after being attack...  this happens quick and like most things you don't have much time to reason the situation out fully cause in moments hesitation the animal can be on you again... it looks as though he fired once over the moose as it stopped and looked back and once it started to charge again he committed to neutralizing the threat... Foolish to get that close to begin with and yes in my opinion he certainly harass the animal, but after it attacked him I think he was justified in putting the threat down.... that's just my opinion...  I most certainly do understand your point that his stupidity put him in the situation... but his recourse of defense was appropriate after being attacked once... a moose regardless of sex and age is very dangerous animal

It was just an animal that threatened the life of a human so, The guy did a public service when he destroyed it and in doing so, He may have saved a human life... He's not a "POS", he's a hero IMO... :cupcoffee:

The moose covered more ground towards him, than he did towards it.

He tried to scare it off. Seemed to be kind of working...Then suddenly the tables turned.

I know my snowmobile doesn't have reverse...I'm guessing his doesn't either. (though some do)...

Turning around would have been impossible. Even a snowmobile can get stuck in deep snow or tip over. Then he'd really be screwed if the moose continued to attack.

The moose was coming at him again when he finally shot.

I wouldn't go so far as to say he was a hero, like Axiom. But he did what he had to do in the situation.

It's a moose...

Does anyone think he would have tried such a stunt if it was a brown bear?

Could have been avoided.

Looks like the moose wanted to stay on the trail and the rider could have given it more of chance to allow him to pass.

Tough call, no matter how you look at it.

Would be interesting to see how the co takes this matter.

Does anyone know where this occurred? Im curious as to the outcome. Im interested to see how a warden would view such an act.

Wyoming.

The man in the video is 51 years old, snowmobiling with his son. It also says he has a "life-threatening" heart condition. Whatever that means. Not sure if he was having  issues at the time and that's why he was more hurried to go, or if just mentioned for no real reason.

All Ive seen so far is that apparently the guy uploaded the video online and the Wyoming wardens are looking for him, Apparently it has not been reported as a self defense killing there.
