28" 277cc 2-stage snowblower.  It moved all of the snow we had this year without any issue.  I bought mine in October 2011 at Lowe's, and they were running a 15% off sale at the time.

Sapere aude.

Audeamus.

Craftsman.

I got one of these this year...

Works pretty good, very happy.

Electric start is a blessing, after owning one with feature would not buy anything else.blower.jpg

Got an Ariens 30" 2 stage platinum about 3 years ago.. Works pretty good, built tough, no problems other than the Gas tank breather hole getting clogged,  but thats a  no brainer to fix... It'll throw the snow further than you'll need it to.. Hand warmers work pretty good and the quick turn shoot is the best..    The only think i don't like about it is the auto turn feature.. The slightest bit of resistance either on the left or right side of the auger housing will knock it off its path.. Then you'll have to man handle it to set it straight.. That gets exhausting if you have a lot of snow to clear...

If i had to do it all over again i'd get a similar sized Husqvarna..  They cost less than the Ariens and a few other makes  and they have finger controls for steering.. I've used one before and it worked great...

“I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target, but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature’s way of fang and claw and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow.” – Fred Bear

I have one of the Troy built from lowes. It's about 10 years old and still very strong. zero problems with the jersey snow the last ten years. that's me and 3 of my neighbors walks and drivways. plus several trips to friends houses.  drives right up ramps to load in truck

tecumsa engine electric start 28 in. 6 forward 2 reverse.

Only things would want on new one are:

Left and right turn powered

Light

Controls all up top

No plastic worm gears

Also check drive train

Mine is old but has new carb and new belts.

Oh also I put large levelers on the sides up front. Makes going over uneven terrain a dream.
