Poor sacks - he never survived  the rut and 6 day.     Neighbor found him very late winter, just a skeleton and rack, in a brook not far from his core area.   Last known pic I had of him was November 10th...   Perhaps he got gored in the sack and bled out, or someone stuck him with an arrow or buckshot, or he got hit by vehicle, or perhaps the stress of the rut and carrying around a 40 lb sack killed him?
