That special kind of stupid you speak of is currently at least half the population of the country. We ( legal, reasonable  gun owners ) have simply lost the argument. As time progresses there are less and less gun owners and those voices will dwindle, again with time. The current and newer generations just do not share a love and respect for firearms as prior generations have. That combined with the propaganda machine that is the media, schools, etc. have all but assured a Second Amendment free future.

The "gun Issue" will help lose the election for Trump. He'll have no choice but to support some sort of weapons ban given the nations strong support for such a ban.  It's the undecided that win elections and most of these are not exactly pro-gun.  Again merely playing Devils advocate there is no reason for an American citizen to own a "military grade " firearm and such an argument can easily be torn apart. Of course there is no valid argument for open borders, sanctuary cities, illegal immigration or socialism but as mentioned at least 50% of the country is that special kind of stupid...  

As mentioned the liberals created this " crisis ", they upended the nations values and history. Enabled children and destroyed a sound and structured culture. Of course we allowed it to happen with little if any opposition.

As the man said it's a shit sandwich and we all will take a bite. The difference is some are so brainwashed as to believe it's filet mignon...

Our only hope is that we can get more patriots on the Supreme Court and then challenge whatever stupid knee-jerk laws crop up and get to enjoy watching the Democrats squirm as their own tactics are used against them.

So where do these ignorant people get their knowledge of firearms. The media. Hollywood has mis-represented guns since the inception of motion pictures from cowboys killin Injuns routinely with 150 yard shots with their 27-shot 6gun to modern day heros that can't hit a thing with their fully tricked out full auto rifles. Stars go on killing sprees and show absolutely no remorse towards the life they have just snuffed out, smiling and laughing and making out with beautiful women, it's always a big party afterwards without one iota of realism.

And then you have knuckleheads  like Don Lemon stating on a "news" channel that there's no reason for anyone to own a "weapon of war".  and I heard him say this once, "There's no reason for anyone to own an AR-15, why if you hunted deer with it, it would just blow a deer apart!!" So where does he get his information? Video games obviously.  

I just want to move to a red state and stick my head in sand...

Hollywood is complicit in the violent, remorseless society that has been created. Really no other more hypocritical cretins then actors who glorify gun play, murder and mayhem and then condemn the results that plays out in the real world. Don Lemon is a moron. Enough said.
