Unexpected subjects

I walked to the tip of Sandy Hook this afternoon hoping for some pictures of Willets, Oystercatchers, Terns and Pipers.
The beach did not disappoint but walking back to the parking lot I came across two unexpected sightings:

Bucks & a cougar nice pics!

Nice pics!! Is it just me or does it look like that buck had an arrow pass through his face?. That scar and the one side looks like it's from a broadhead

He is swollen but there is no hunting on Sandy Hook and even if he came from main land across the river there is really no hunting on the other side of the river as well. But everything is possible. He looked healthy otherwise
